HEY JUDE
Song: Hey Jude, The Beatles
Hey Jude is one of my favourite songs from The Beatles. This song was written for Julian (Jude/ John Lennon’s son) by Paul McCartney while his parents were going through a divorce.
The only thing I don’t like about this song is that they are trying to convince Julian to accept his stepmother. Lennon himself left Cynthia (his first wife) abandoning him (Julian) to marry Yoko (the woman who he left for Cynthia). He was only five when his parents were separating.
Leaving that part aside there are some really good lyrics too.
These are my favourite lines….
I am just going to say how I interpret this part of the lyrics :
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.
It’s like whenever you feel hurt or any sort of pain then you should just pause for sometime and not let it consume you completely ( which usually happens to most of us ). And you don’t have to carry all your problems alone and be responsible for everything that happens to u.
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.
Hiding your emotions while you are actually hurt isn’t the best . It just makes you look like a fool. And if you keep bottling up your emotions and keep hiding them, then it will actually make you feel worse.
The later parts of the song just says that it will eventually get better.
It’s like a reminder that it’s okay to feel, but don’t let those feelings trap you.
