So on point. Yeah, it explains why we are performative.

Reminds me of Jester entertaining queen on throne meme. That's how many of us consider interactions to be mmm. You've to act good enough for someone to notice, etc

Since it's something from childhood, it probably takes effort to overcome and to accept that, you can be loved without being performative
